Introducing Onorio D’Epiro..

Hi! My name is Onorio and I like to draw…and make stuff! I was born in Bedford and I have lived there ever since.

As a child I always used to draw silly little creatures, and I’ve always wanted to follow a career in art since watching cartoons such as Ren & Stimpy and reading comics like the Beano. I also have a strong interest in film, in particular special effect models and props. I’ve subsequently mixed my two passions together and now I’m making the little monsters I once used to draw as a little kid!

I studied art and design at Bedford College before going on to the University of Hertfordshire to finish off my education in the field of model design and SFX.

I’m lucky to have a nice workspace in my garage, equipped with lathe, pillar drill, bandsaw and sanding discs… along with all the other bits and bobs! I’ve got the whole kit :)

I have many dream collaboration ideas and people to work with. I think my favourite would be someone who is open to suggestions and super talented such as Chris Ryniak, or companies like Shinbone creative or Design works, as they both produce amazing work.

I’m currently trying to join as many exhibitions as possible as I believe my work is better viewed in person as opposed to a photo. I also want to meet as many creative people as possible so that I can get inspiration for new projects.

I have lots of projects on the go at the moment, including some kit based designs (a first for me) and I’ve also started to teach myself how to draw on a computer tablet. I’m planning to get some of my monster Illustrations out on print for people to purchase. Overall I’ll keep jumping from 2D to 3D concepts as I think it’s important for me to practice both mediums in order to keep my artwork fresh and exciting.
